Nov. Family trip: 9 days Buenos Aires and where?

Jump to last reply

Our daughter is currently spending a semester studying in Buenos Aires. The rest of the family (5 people) are flying in/out of BA late November. I wish the trip were longer but it's impossible due to other kids' school schedules.

The original plan was to spend 3-4 days in Bariloche (husband's pick) and the rest in BA, but I'm rethinking due to high intra-country airfare for 6 people and travel time. Instead, I'm considering renting an apt in BA and taking day or side trips.

My questions:
1.) Besides Iguaza Falls, what side trips would you recommend for family with teenagers?
2.) What area would you rent an apt in? We are experienced travelers and like vibrant, authentic neighborhoods with local food/markets.
3.) Any recommendations for favorite rental agents?

Thanks, in advance.
