Sat July 2- Marriott
Sunday July 3- Marriott
Monday July 4- 8:45am flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado (connection through Cuzco).
Stay at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
Tuesday July 5- Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
Wed July 6- Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
Thursday July 7- 11:55 am flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cuzco. Stay at Aranwa Cuzco
Friday July 8- Aranwa Cuzco

Monday July 11- 3:30pm train from Aguas Calientes to Cuzco. Stay at Aranwa Cuzco

This is where I am getting stuck. We would like to rent a car and drive from Lima down the south coast. 2 nights in Ica at Villa Jazim and one night in Nazca at Hotel Cantayo. Then drive back to Lima to stay one night in Lima before 10:30pm flight back to NYC.
Thoughts/comments on the 2 weeks? My husband and I are in our mid 30's. He loves to drive and we like independent travel.

Your hotels are upscale
Your route does not take altitude illness into consideration
Cusco 11000 ft if you go to MP SV FIRST from CUZ 8900ft
odds are great you will get less sick.
www.inkaterra.com is best at MP Reserva Amazonica is good
lodge but not on amazon not great wildlife and hassle
to get too Manu Wildlife Center www.inkanatura.com
much better for me.
For your journey to the south
Hotel of the Nasca Lines best in Nasca sort of a dump
www.libertador.com.pe Paracas and DoubleTree your 2 best
there... otherwise looks fine insuremytrip.com always wise
Have fun,

coming back from Puerto Maldonado, flying into Cuzco- How do you recommend arranging so can take into consideration altitude sickness? arrive in Cuzco airport and go direct to SV? Stay 2 nights in SV, then go back and stay one night at Cuzco before heading to MP?
Where do you recommend staying in SV?
Is renting a car and driving ourselves from Lima to Nasca doable?
It will be better for you to take a bus to Arequipa, visit there and then rent a car to nazca, its about 250 miles from Arequipa, nazca lines by plane are wnderful, and then you can drive to Ica Valley to see the Pisco Distilleries and wineries
you can visit EL CATADOR BODEGA ,the tour and the wine, pisco tasting is free. You can visit the oldest winery and learn how Pisco is made,it will be amazing for you to learn about Pisco history.
After that experience you can drive to lima, the highway is in very good condition just 3 hours of driving to Lima.
