As far as I can remember, all my "suggested reading" has been positive, which certainly is NOT the case with the above linked thread.
With reference to that thread, allow me to quote part of the answer of no less than the dean of TA Argentina posters, the world-famous DRDAWGGY: "...my wife and I had a wonderful experience with Angie during our short trip to the Northwest of Argentina. We found her to be extremely informative and helpful during our tour(s)..."
Furthermore, as always, I suggest forum readers do their own research, using Trip Advisor's search feature to find other comments about Angie, including my own, from four years ago, linked below.

A relatively brief trip report:
http://tinyurl.com/6h7evzr
When renting a car in Bariloche, stay away from a firm called Cumbres.
This is what this trip report says about them:
"One word of caution - we had problems with our car rental company, Cumbres (Martin) who does not care about customer service. Tried to scam more money out of us and did not even bother to meet us...left us standing on a street in Bariloche (after the 4-1/2 hr drive (by our guide at the lodge who had to return to Trevelin) He said he did NOT care if I wrote on the forums....so this is the warning..BE VERY AWARE. The car did not work properly (NOR was it the car we reserved) and he wanted to charge us to bring us an exchange car that worked. UH, This one did not.....why charge us MORE? It was definitely an ORDEAL and I would never recommend them."
Another great trip report on TA:
http://tinyurl.com/4rru66g
And another one, from a Scottish poster, who says:
"The Argentineans still obviously feel strongly that the Malvinas should be theirs, and they might well be right. Despite this we met nothing but courtesy when we presented our British passports."
http://tinyurl.com/49u5jlk
lol, deja vu ..

Déjà vu:
The above poster's previous post on this thread is dated on May 25, 10 at 9:55pm and provides a link to a TA thread in which a valued forum member was unfairly attacked, or so felt a significant majority of the other posters.
On the other hand, all of the links I provide in this thread are positive, or at least informative.
Have a great time in our country.
Sorry, is this only for you to post on ?

Many Fodors readers and posters are not on TA and so would miss the often valuable information provided by AV Rooster in the "More Suggested Reading" threads.
I do read TA, and still find it useful to have these TRs in one place - and as reminders.
The goal of the Fodors Argentina Forum, as I understand it, is to provide a forum for Argentines, Ex-pats and frequent or recent visitors to Argentina to answer the travel questions posed by potential or returning visitors to this great country. I think this Forum is very useful...as are other Fodors products (travel books, for example). That is not to say that Trip Advisor, and it's Argentina Forum, are not equally important and useful.
No real need, IMO, for bitter remarks; there is no compitition here. We can all agree that we want to learn and share what we can about this country that we are all either interested in or addicted to.
Think Green - St. Patrick's Day, not money !

Thank you, Amy_D!
Have a great time in our country.
Thank you from me too, AMY. Your re-consideration and re-instatement of this valuable thread is why Fodors has such a well-deserved, excellent reputation in the field.
I find Fodors such an important research and commentary tool for Argentine travel plans. And again, appreciate the trouble you have taken to restore this thread.
Easter Greetings,
~MarnieWDC
Prospective travelers come to travel forums to equip themselves with information about their destination. I, for one, am grateful to Fodors for permitting links from various sites that will allow the traveler to gather as much information as possible in an efficient and effective manner. Fodors is to be commended for rising above the inclination to ban useful information harvested from competitor sites. The real beneficiaries are travelers! Thank you, Amy and Fodors!
I'm with you, imaq!
If travelers can manage to find Fodor's, I'm sure they can manage to figure out how to work Tripadvisor.
Why are you trying to redirect Fodorites to Tripadvisor? Do you work for TA, avrooster?
Also, from the guidelines:
.... Please include a small explanation to make it easy for fellow members to decide whether or not the content is of interest to them.
"Another great report" is not an explanation
FYI, AV Rooster was blacklisted from Trip Advisor. That he is still willing to link valuable information from their site speaks volumes about his motivation.
There exists overwhelming evidence based on his many posts on the Fodors site to answer questions posed by travelers that his aim is to serve as a good will ambassador for his country.
That you may or may not want to take advantage of the information is your prerogative, of course. Denigrating the character of a fellow poster is not. Just my opinion, of course.
Fellow forum members iamq (not imaq, as spelled by Icuy) and Icuy are obviously most welcome to post their opinions here, whatever they may be, but their posts would be even more welcome if they brought their unlimited wisdom to the Argentina forum more often, instead of just for this purpose.
The fact that Icuy asks if I work for TA is so ridiculous that my tears barely allow me to see the keyboard. LOL!!!!
As drdawggy, the greatest ever Internet Argentina travel expert, would say, just my humble opinion, of course.
About the CLOSED http://www.fodors.com/community/south-america/where-is-the-great-thread-with-all-the-trs.cfm thread:
I suggest we all write to Amy_D asking her to completely DELETE it, so we can pretend this never happened and we can all live happily ever after.
Easter Greetings to everybody, as MarnieWDC taught me to say.
i can attest to AVR being interested in only one thing: Argentina and BA in particular...
he was invaluable to help to us in planning our trip and he graciously hosted us at his house... he and his wife are gracious hosts.
without his first hand info about BA today, i think the forum would be sadly lacking.
this type of posting is most welcome, imo....
You know, I think Icuy has a good idea for this thread:
A very brief description of the link referenced would make the TRs even more useful and accessible. Something like the mini notes under a photo.
For example: TR on the NOA by Yestravel.
So, thanks, Icuy for the idea. Have a nice day.
~MarnieWDC
I, personally, love the way AVR approach you to other forms in order to show you other valuable opinions.
AVR has no benefits from this, escept for the satisfaction of helping. Does it sound so wierd?? Well, I always thought He is a little ¨special¨but... in the best way.
Felices Pascuas para todos!!!!!
Flintstones/Angie
I have nothing against AV. I know nothing about him/her. I just thhink it is odd to post a whole series of links with absolutely no indication as to what them contain.
Opening anonymous links can be a good way to catch viruses, and I wondered why anyone interested in TA's forums would not just go there and browse on their own.
I can see the value of occasionally posting a link if a poster has an unanswered question here that has been covered well elsewhere, or if a poster want to further develop a discussion from another site.
and no, I don't have any tips or opinions about Argentina, but of course there are other countries sharing this SA forum...
sorry for typs above. My Blackberry is so small!
First, Amy, I also appreciate u reinstating this thread. Hopefully it will stay put this time. I agree with Dr. D words, "grateful to Fodors for permitting links from various sites that will allow the traveler to gather as much information as possible in an efficient and effective manner. Fodors is to be commended for rising above the inclination to ban useful information harvested from competitor sites. The real beneficiaries are travelers! "
Second AV, here's a link to our trip to NOA & to a quickie BA one that I forgot about!
http://www.fodors.com/community/south-america/the-fascinating-nw-of-arg-pt1.cfm
http://www.fodors.com/community/south-america/ba-is-even-more-wonderful-the-2nd-time-around.cfm
Thirdly, lcuy & iamq - I don't know if u have travelled to SA and used these boards to help u with your trips, but there is so much less info on the Fodor's SA board compared to say the Europe board. The advantage to me of AV bringing the TRs from TA to these boards in one comprehensive thread is that it adds to the richness of info that one can efficiently get from Fodor's. Of course I can go to TA (and I do) but I don't go there as regularly as I do with Fodor's. It's very easy to miss new TRs and to constantly have to do a search to find the latest reports is time consuming. The fact that AV takes the time to do this saves me time in doing my research and planning for my trip. I very much appreciate that, since as we all know researching and planning a trip can take lots of time. If u haven't experienced SA, I suggest u look into a future trip to SA...reviewing some of the TRs is a good way to find out why some of us are so passionate about SA....u can do ARG on this thread easily.
As suggested by editor AMY_D and Marnie, my future posts on this TR thread will include "a brief description of the link referenced".

Lessons from the negatives in the above report:
As I have said over and over, try not to take cabs waiting outside touristy places (have a radio taxi CALLED), particularly at night and NEVER pay cabs with bills larger than 20 pesos.
I agree about la Cabrera and the dog poop.
Everything else was between good and great, so I obviously agree!
Mr. Rooster,
TripAdvisor has now been "officially" been split off from Expedia. Maybe they will take you back.
In the U.S. TripAdvisor is pretty much worthless. When the third most favorite restaurant of (you name it town or city) is Applebee's, then you know the reviewers don't have a clue.
If I were you, I'd stay banned from TripAdvisor. As for me, I'm still trying to get my socks clean from my stay in Buenos Aires.
Might I suggest a NEW SUGGESTED READING THREAD for the NEW YEAR ?
Mr. Rooster, what do you think ?
Happy Holidays to all,
~MarnieWDC
I'm quite grateful for your suggestion, Chief DE Marnie.
However, while you may be the Chief DE here, I'm the OP of this thread and I disagree.

Guess who their "dear friend" is?
Have a great time in our town.
About the "black water" episode in the above trip report: This trick is known all over the world and often involves being sprayed with a sticky substance. The con artists offer to help you clean up and take the opportunity to "relieve" you of your belongings.
However, I would not have expected this to happen on our famous and elegant Avenida del Libertador. This tells me the people who perform this trick are getting more and more daring. However, I have never heard of this trick involving any violence. Just don't allow them to come close and yell if you feel like it. They'll just leave.
I recollect recently posting the following, or words to that effect: If ANYTHING strange happens near you, your first reaction should be to hold on firmly to your belongings, as it is quite likely a trick intended to distract you. A similar distraction I have read about is someone vomiting near you.
Be alert, as Ronnie & DH were and you'll have a great time in our town and return over and over, as they do.
