Montevideo Airport...How Much Time Should We Allow?

We are firming up our airline travel. If we are leaving from Montevideo Airport on a Sunday during high season to fly to Buenos Aires, how early should we be to catch our Pluna flight without running for the gate? Is the morning flight or afternoon flight better, and how long does it take time-wise to get to the airport from the Cala di Volpe? It's a Sunday that we want to travel, and that's usually a smart day to travel...but it is high season that we will be flying. Thanks!

Pluna's website says you have to be checked in for flights to Buenos Aires one hour before departure. That doesn't mean you walk into the terminal at the hour mark.

The airport is a long way from Montevideo. I'd allow 45-60 minutes for the trip. It really probably won't take that long, but who knows what traffic is like on a Sunday after everyone has been away for the weekend.

Whenever I'm in a new country or flying a new airline or using a new airport I don't know, I call the airline and ask what they recommend about how far in advance to check in and how much time I should allow to get the airport. They'll tell you. Do that when you're in Uruguay, or have someone at your hotel make the call.

Thanks Jeff! If anyone out there has personal experience, I'd love to hear that as well.

I think that 45 minutes, max should be more than enough from
Cala di Volpe which is in Punta Carretas.

However always your best bet it to ask in the hotel. You can call them by phone and ask them I always do that and also ask how much is a taxi or remise drive from the hotel to the airport.

Allow plenty of time at the airport. Both times I have flown from there, the lines have been slow and long.
