You can do the same for "puertas cerradas". I only went once to one of those places and hated it. I went with some fun people, or I would probably have left before dinner was over. Do you realize you would be overpaying for meeting other tourists? Well, it's a matter of taste......

I loved my experiences at the puertas cerradas. We went to 3 of them and one of them was definitely not filled with tourists - it seemed to be more locals. That one was Almacen Secreto and I think their website was in Spanish only. The other 2 were Casa Saltshaker and Casa Felix.

We didn't go to any milongas, although there was one right around the corner from where we stayed in Palermo Soho. We did go to 2 jazz bars - Virasoro and Thelonius. Both were excellent.

One of our goals for the puertas cerradas visit was to be able to access a local dwelling...see how the locals live.
However, how expensive is expensive for a 3-5 course meal? We may re-think this.
I found a list of milongas on TA...thanks for the tip. Now to narrow it down to one of two! As a professional musician, I am very interested in hearing some "live music" while in town. Not interested at all in loud discos or the like. Appreciated your recommendations on the jazz clubs.
