TripAdvertizer is the worst forum for this
Occult Agency Owners that are foreign expat touts
buy ads to scam newbies there as "Destination Experts" daily.
Most posting is totally contrived and fake
to snare the clueless worst I have seen on the boards.
Cruiscritic.com alternative forums are good...
Thank you for the input. Seaman II will be a new part of my research.
Also thinking about the Nina or the m/v Santa Cruz (very different experiences, I would imagine, due to the size).
Guess you could say I am just starting to look into this and am open to all suggestions.
Qwovadis should know about trip advisor; he was an "expert" there with thousands of posts and reviews, mostly touting the same agency in Ecuador. He freely admits they gave him a discount; no wonder he advertises them so much.
We went on an Ecoventura boat last month and it was great. We booked with CNH Tours who helped organize a great package for us in the Amazon and the islands. And no they didn't up the price like Qwovadis says.
As you mentioned, the Santa Cruz and Seaman would be very different experiences. (90 pax vs. 16) Millenium is in a category lower than the other vessels and is classified as mid range (also with 16 pax).
I always vote for smaller vessels, but that´s due to my travel style! Larger vessels also have alot to offer tourists, it just depends on what kind of experience you´d like to have in the islands!
The Nina Luxury Catamaran has not been operating in the Galapagos islands since January of this year,so you can defintitely cross that one off your list!
Have a great time planning this dream vacation.
