I had to start a new topic, but also wondering if anyone or know someone that has been to the Manu Learning Center and the Romero Rain Forest Lodge in Manu?
I cannot seem to find any info on them much at all. Thanks again for all your help.
The Tambopata research center might be easier with still a lot of wildlife. The Romero has only 8 rooms with washrooms which is nice. Joanie

We were in Manu 2 years ago with Pantiacolla Tours. We spent 7 nights there and stayed in 3 or 4 different lodges. They were of varying degrees of comfort. It is a spectacular place to visit and we saw a great deal of wildlife. Our guide, Jose, was superb. Pantiacolla is owned by a Dutch biologist & her Peruvian husband. It is a very well regarded company. The food was great and staying in different areas of Manu enabled us to experience a variety of wildlife.

Thanks for your feed back. I am trying to decide whether to go into the Manu area or the Tambopata area, it is a hard decision when you can only do this once and only one area.

I had friends go to Tambopata. The advantage was they did not have to do the grueling bus ride through the Andes. You can fly both ways into Manu, as well, but with Pantiacolla, we took the bus. My friends had a less rustic experience but did not move around like we did. I think either choice is a good one. My friends did not see as much wildlife as we did. Other friends of mine that did an earlier Pantiacolla trip saw even more wildlife than we did.
I think you will be happy either way.
