Machu Picchu plus a beach destination (which one?)

My wife and I are starting to plan a trip to Machu PIcchu next summer (either learly July or early August) for 2-3 weeks and want to add a beach destination. I'm using miles to book flights so I'd like to get that taken care of soon to get good flights. Since, I'm using American Airlines miles, I'm hoping to book a one way flight to Cuzco and then possibly return from somewhere else. We are willing to take a cheap flight from Lima to another destination. Some current options with relatively easy flights from Lima are:

Panama
Colombia
Ecuador

Any recommendations for beaches in these places or other ideas? Ideally, we would like a mellow beach area with unspoilt beaches. We went to Vieques a couple years back and would love a similar vibe and beaches. We would also like to spend less than $100 a night on lodging. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Also, for those that have done Machu Picchu, should we consider adding an Amazon part to our trip?
