We will be there in a few weeks and wondered about the line to get in. We already have our train tickets and entrance tickets. Once we take the train and bus to MP should we expect a long line? OUr train arrives around 10am. We are staying at the Sant Lodge for a few nights and want to know if it will be easy to exit MP to go eat lunch then re-enter for the rest of the day. We are not the kind of people to pack a lunch, so we hope this option will work out for us.
Anyone know if the line to enter MP is usually a long wait? We don't want to spend tons of time enter and reentering MP.
Thanks

The lines are longer in the morning when most people get in, we waited about 10 minutes I believe, the line for tickets to climb WP was much longer. There shouldn't be any wait getting back in after lunch, MP's actually much nicer in the afternoon as most of the crowd has gone away.
If you are just going for one day I would plan on eating up at MP. It will take over half an hour each way to get between the site and the town. If you arrive at 10 even with tickets it will be around 11 before you are inside. And the site closes at 5:30 pm. So even if you aren't that "type" I would bring a lunch, or eat at the expensive snack bar, or the $38 buffet.
So then is the Sant Lodge is at the entrance to MP? That's really the key question.
Yes, where the bus will drop you off, right to the left. There isn't much up there other than the Sanctuary Lodge, snack bar, restrooms, luggage hold and entrance. You can't get lost (famous last words).
This isn't the question you're asking, but you say you're staying "a few nights" at the Sanctuary Lodge. I question if you're going to find enough to keep you busy for that long.
Thanks.
@ Jeff Costa Rica - We are staying 2 nights. FYI
Two nights won't be overkill.
