We are in the early stages of planning a trip in late March/April 2014 with a time period of three weeks. One of the stops would include Patagonia, Explora Salta Chico. Thinking of flying into Ba from North America. Spend a few days in BA and then - according to their web site- "take a flight from BA to El Calafate, then bus or private transport to Cerro Castillo, Chili".
Has anyone done this trip recently ? Are there limited flights (days of week or time of day) from BA to El Calafate ? Any airlines/flights to recommend checking out ? Any recommendations on private driver or is public transport pretty straight forward ? How long is the drive from El Calafate to Cerro Castillo ?
Thanks for any help. Just trying to get my head around some of the transportation issues on this part of the trip.
Logistics to reach Explora Salto Chico from BA and onwards.

Check with Explora. They may provide transfers as part of their all inclusive rates.
They will pick you up at the border.
I have only been to TdP by flying from Santiago to Punta Arenas.
