Lima Peru Airport
My boyfriend and I will be flying into Lima on Friday, 9/2 at 11 pm. We are flying the next day, 9/3 at 6:30 am to Arequipa. Are there hotels close to the airport to stay for 1 night or should we just camp out at the airport for the night? Also are there lockers at the airport to store luggage? Any help would be appreciated.

There is a nice Ramada hotel about 50 footsteps from the airport. In May 2011, it cost about $170/night. The airport itself is small, but not the worst place to spend a night. Clean and lots of places to eat. We had to transit through it six times over the course of 17 days so I feel like I know it pretty well!

The other hotels are not as close as the Ramada, the Manhattan is one that is often recommended. One thing I would NOT do is go into Miraflores for a hotel with a short layover.
I found the airport pretty comfortable and the seats do not have armrests, if you are flying LAN you may find them open (I think their desk is nearly 24/7). There is also locker storage at the airport. If you decide to spend the night at the airport the restaurant 4D has comfortable bench seats and great gelato and espresso drinks, last time I hung out a few hours there and then went into the departure lounge and stretched out after I had checked my bags.

PS Hope you did not book on Peruvian Airlines. The new government is after them (initially suspended for 90 days). Big hoo hah at the moment. Check the other threads here or on Tripadvisor for details.

I might be a little strange, I know, but I kinda like staying in the domestic side of Lima airport. There's a food court, an internet cafe, and lots of people due to pretty much the same circumstances as yours.
By the time you get off of the plane and get situated in domestic, and then board the plane, you'll only have maybe six hours or so; I've even gotten some sleep in that time, but then, I can sleep pretty much anywhere! (Do have a sweater or something as the AC can get a bit chilly in the corridor that's best for napping.)
The International departures is much more glam, less fun.

My son and I spent the night at the airport. There was a sitting are on the lower level where everyone went to sleep and the food was always available. No problems at all and it was kind of fun.
