Itinerary help needed!

Howdy!

Our itinerary for Peru is shaping up - we'll be spending a few days in the Cusco / Sacred Valley region, do the 4 day Inca Trail trek, perhaps dally for an extra day, fly out for the 4 day program at Manu, return to Cusco and then...

Ah, that's the question - then what? The order of these activities is not yet fixed, but I'm having trouble rounding out the trip...

Please help -

1. Pie in the sky - if you had 2-4 days, from Cusco (given the above itinerary), where would you go?

2. Less ideal, but still theoretical - what if you were choosing between Arequipa / Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca? Which would you choose, and why?

3. Totally practical - If we only have 2-4 days, are either Arequipa or Lake Titicaca realistic destinations? Is one easier to get to than the other, in your opinion?

I have to admit, my first instincts draw me towards Arequipa / Colca Canyon, but I've heard rave reviews about Lake Titicaca from friends. I have to admit, I do like shopping for native crafts wherever I travel, and I hear Titicaca is a nice place to end a trip in that regard. But both seem lovely and unique, nature wise - any words of wisdom would be much appreciated! Cheers, Carrie
