Independence Day in Cuzco

I will be in Cuzco for four nights, July 26 through 29, overlapping with Peruvian Independence Day. Are there special events, festivities, performances, etc., going on during this time that is worth checking out? I'm just about done planning for my trip to Peru and to Brazil and cannot wait. Thanks.

There are always festivals going on in Cusco so you are like to be in luck. Most seem to start and finish in and around the Plaza de Armas. We left Cusco a couple of days before Independence Day last year as the celebrations were just getting started and saw a couple of parades during our time there.

July is a nice time to visit the city.
