Hi all,
We are scheduled to depart from Rio for a 14 day cruise. We plan to arrive 2-3 days early to see Rio.
I was wondering if it is possible to see Iguazu Falls from Rio (well, not actually SEE IT FROM Rio... meant travel to Iguazu Falls from Rio.
)
How long does it take? I am guessing one as to fly to the area of the falls.
Any travel agent recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Trip Ideas
We were very pleased with Brazil Nature Tours:

Rio is a great city, with only 2-3 days, squeezing in a trip to Iguazu would be very tight IMHO.
Iguacu Falls can be done in a 1 night / 2 day trip. Daily flights from Rio - some non-stop and some stop in Sao Paulo.
Best place to stay would be Hotel das Cataratas - the only hotel in the National Park overlooking the falls.
I suggest taking a tour of the Argentina Side of the falls while staying on the Brazil side. You can also take a boat tour called the Gran Aventura that will take you right up to the "Devil's Throat".

Just as Jill said, it would be an easy 2 day trip. I'd recommend spending most of that on the Argentinian side, actually. Much more impressive! Maybe a morning on the Brazil side, then cross the border to Argentina (very easy) and do one and a half days there. It's less expensive to stay on the Argentina side, too.
The boat ride is fun, but more for the thrill-seeking aspect than anything else. Be advised: you WILL get drenched!
