Iguazu Falls - 4 star hotel near the airport?

Hi,
Please can you suggest any good hotel near the IGU airport for 1 night? I was looking for a 4 star hotel. Our plan is to arrive from Iguazu, Argertina in the morning, drop luggage at the hotel, spend day at the falls and the bird park. Next day we have a flight at 6 am to Rio and full packed day in Rio.
So which hotel would be good and convenient for my itinerary and involves less back tracking?
As of now I have booked Viale Tower hotel, but now I figured it out that it is town and will involve lot of backtracking.

Thanks

Just stay at the Belmond Cataratas inside the park. The park is closer to the airport than the town. Or find some resort along the road between town and park. But really, the town is not all that far away and there is seldom enough traffic to make things difficult. 4 star in Brazil isn't quite what it signifies in NYC or Paris though.

With a 6am flight out of the Brazilian side, you are better off staying in Brazil as SambaChula suggests. The bird park is also in Brazil, although the falls is on both sides. You can see the Brazilian side of the falls in 2-3 hours. The Argentinean side requires at least a full day.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am looking to stay 1 night on Brazil side. Before that we are staying at 2 nights on Argentina side.
Belmond is really too expensive as we will be just there to sleep as we have a 6am flight next morning. I am really having tough time finding a good hotel on Brazil side. They look like 2-3 star hotel.
I was looking for something with proper rooms and bathroom like any 4 star hotel have and near to the airport to get an extra half an hour sleep. I checked San Martin, their charging double than Viale Tower and still rooms and bathroom looks dated as compared to Viale Towers.
Any other suggestions please?

PS - I am staying at Mercure on Argentina time.

The Viale Tower does not look like a 4 star in photos, although it is new construction. It is possibly as far from the airport as one could get in Foz. As I mentioned, a European/US 4 star is hard to find in Brazil, particularly if the Belmond is out of your budget range. There are certainly lots of pousadas and small comfortable hotels in Foz. Perhaps you could explain what "proper rooms and bathroom" signify to you. Again, I would suggest one of the resorts outside town, on the road to the airport. If you look at addresses on the booking sites, most of these resorts are on Av. Cataratas with a "km" number for location. One of these may fulfill your criteria, as well as being convenient to the airport and park entrance/bird park.

Also, id you are concerned about backtracking and wish to maximize your time in the park, consider stoting your luggage in the lockers at the park entrance, touring the park, and then taking your luggage to the hotel.

Looks like the Wish Resort may be your best bet, although I have no idea whether it meets your definition of a four star. It is, as you said, only one night.
