how to enter US passport # when paying reciprocity fee?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to register on Provincia Pagos. I need to create a login with my name and info.

After I select US for nationality, the passport number must be entered. My passport number contains 9 digits. The area for passport number has 2 boxes to enter information. The first box allows 5 digits, the next box allows 18 digits.

How am I supposed to enter my passport number? Do I start in the first box and continue in the next or enter complete number in the 2nd box?

There is an old instruction guide that shows that page with only one text box for the passport number. If anyone has completed this process recently I would appreciate learning how you did it. Thanks.

Given all the problems I've read associated with paying the fee I was hoping I could get through creating a login!
