How Not to Travel Like a Local: Faux News, Faux pas
While doing a bit of online research on cultural immersion I came across a travel article on the Fox News website on" living like a local" when traveling. Over the article was a picture of a couple dressed in tango attire on el caminito in la Boca, Buenos Aires.
Great setting with all the brightly painted buildings in the background. What amused me was the entire article was about experiencing culture like a local but the picture was taken in the single most Disneyfied, touristy location in all of Buenos Aires. The article itself wasn't bad, and offered some good advice. One suggestion: Do your research before travel.
Note to the editor responsible for matching photos with articles: Follow your own advice.
That is all. Have a good day.

"Caminito, que el tiempo ha borrado", as the famous tango goes:

THE or one of the most touristy places in BA, without any authentic charm that I can possibly think of!
Just listen to the tango and skip the street!
And do NOT walk to and from there!
Great post, drdawggy!

So, drdawggy, what would be your top 2 suggestions for 'living like a local when traveling' in Buenos Aires ??
I am entirely too late for looking like a beautiful, tall, dark young Porteña ( well maybe dark ) and speaking Castillano like one, well.......
