I've started my hard core hotel search for our four-night hotel stay in Buenos Aires in November. I was drawn to the Palermo area right away.
Usually in cities I really enjoy taking the subway to various tourist locations. And I usually like to find a hotel within a couple blocks of a subway stop. I'm wondering if this will hold true in BA, I've read a lot of posts saying people generally find taxi's easy and cheap. Should I put a greater importance on the subway location, or should I expect to take taxi's more?
We are looking for a hotel around $250 or under, most I've seen are under, I was kind of surprised by that. I'm a heavy user of Trip Advisor, so I've looked at the top ten pretty well.....
I was considering Tailor Made, Legado Mitico, or Miravida Soho....
Any advice from visitors on the location of any of these?

I am afraid to say that there are no subways stations near the 3 hotels you mentioned. Take radio taxis, as people say cheap and easy.
Location :
Tailor Made is in an area called Cañitas not walking distance from the Palermo people talk about.
Between Legado Mitico and Miravida, Legado Mitico is much nicer. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated
The Nuss hotel is a very option and in the same heart of Palermo. No match for it at the moment.
Enjoy your trip !
I think you should put your emphasis on which neighborhood appeals to you and which hotel looks good/is the right price.
There are several highly rated hotels in Palermo Soho and Viejo, remember that these boutique hotels are small, book up early and some may have noise issues. Read as many forums and guide books as you can to get a full picture of things..
Two of the most well established and highly regarded boutique hotels would be Home Hotel and Bobo. There is also the Ayres Palermo and Ayers Recoleta.
You can walk all over Palermo, it is a huge barrio but it is easy and fun to walk here.
Recoleta is also nice and you can ( we do ) walk from Recoleta to Palermo .. so don't worry about the Subte... taxis and walking are the way to go.
We stayed in Miravida Soho this past November. The suite room was very nice, but I thought the other room we stayed in to be way too small. The owner and staff are fantastic and they have a nice wine bar. Both rooms were very quiet. At the time we reserved the suite room was a bit lower priced than Legado Mitico standard room, not sure how it is priced now. We walked all over and took some taxis at night. We really liked the Canitas area and thought Tailor Made very nice -- we checked it out. However, the location is not as close to other areas as Palmero. There were so many nice choices 4 places to stay in Palmero. Happy hunting!
yestravel ... you are getting tongue tied .. Pal er mo ... LOL
That is ok.. they have a drink here called Pomelo .. I told my husband one day that we needed to go to Pomelo to do some shopping... I mean Palermo
oh my goodness---time to get back to BA -- forgot the name of my favorite place or at least how to spell it!
Milla's advice is very much on target.
Based on location, the Tailor Made Hotel should probably not make your short list. Las Cañitas is a bit removed from Palermo and not very central to Buenos Aires.
The Legado Mitico is a very nice small hotel.
The Miravido Soho is at a different price point....for the money it is an excellent choice...but if your budget permits up to $250...there are probably more upscale options available to you
The Nuss Hotel is new...I have only heard about it from others, but it looks great and is the heart of Palermo. Milla is in the travel business and knows various hotels..I trust trust her judgment.
The Nuss is too new to make the TA Top 10, but if it lives up to its promise it is only a matter of time.
