We are travelling to South America in a few weeks. We are a family of 4, two small children age 8 and 4. So far we have planned as follows: Flying into Montevideo on Mar 08. Mar 08, and 09 Punte Del Este. Mar 10 Montevideo, Mar 11 Colonia, Mar 12-16 Buenos Aires, March 17 Mendoza, Mar 18-20 Santiago. We are flying back from Santiago. My question is, we have only 1 day in Mendoza is that enough. (not really into wine, might go see 1 winery at the most) or should we add more days there and take away 1 day from somewhere else. Thanks Vic
Help, Leaving in 3 weeks, Itenrary what do you think? Please critique!

One more day in Mendoza for me at least...
sort of crammed might pare back.
Seem like yo really like packing and unpacking as that is a lot of travelling and changes of hotel in a short timespan. not sure I would want it with 2 small children.
You don't say what your likes and dislikes are which would help to give better recommendation. Having been to all of these places, Montevideo, BA and Colonia were my favourites. Persona;ly I was not enchanted by Mendoza - great if you are into wine (and food) but apart from that not a great deal else apart from trekking in the nearby Andes, but I doubt you would be interested in that with a young family!
Some photos of these places and a little more info are on our blog: http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog/candcthai/1/tpod.html
I agree that Mendoza is not worth the time for a day. I would spend more time in Buenos Aires. It is a huge city with lots to do. Wonderful parks and a zoo. There is a Japanese garden where young children feed the Carp a few feet away.
Good luck
thanks, Mendoza is just one day stopover on our way from BA to Santiago. Glad i didnt book more days there. So sounds like one day is more than enough!
