Good (and great) Argentinian films
I'm sure I've seen some others, but these come to mind:
Esperando al mesías (Waiting for the Messiah)
Luna de Avellaneda (Moon of Avellaneda)
El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes)
What Argentinian films do you enjoy?

Daniel Burman did not make Nuevae reinas, that was the late Fabian Bielensky, whose other film El aura is a truly wonderful film. Sad loss to the film industry.
Look out for any of Subiela's films partcularly Hombre mirando al sudeste (Man Facing Southeast) or the wonderful black comedy El Lado oscuro del corazón. Nacha Guevara playing Death is inspired.
Other worthies. Kamchatka is a wonderful film. That one features Ricardo Darin. You'll probably find La historia oficial/ The Official Story in your local video store. Hard to beat as a film.
Iluminados por el fuego about the aftermath of the Falklands War is an interesting film and if you like Gaston Pauls, he' s the star attraction.
They make some fine films in Argentina, if only they could cook meat and play music......

Saw Cautiva recently. Good movie. Also saw Tetro (Written and directed by Francis Ford Copola). We enjoyed both movies but give the nod to Cautiva.
Thanks posters for a new list of films to watch.

Some of my favorites are:
Valentin -- I can't recommend this film enough -- I'm eagerly awaiting Agresti's newest film (still in development) that has the most alluring title of "The Scent of Books".
Cleopatra
Conversaciones Con Mama
Delores de Casada
Bar El Chino
