My wife and I will be in Rio from Sep. 18 to 26 and would like spend a day or two in Salvador. We understand that it's easy to make arrangements after we arrive in Rio. True? Or is it better to plan beforehand? And what's the approximate airfare?
Thanks, Joe

Econos like GOL and Azul tend to be cheaper booked in advance
www.despegar.com brazilfoless.com for best prices
usually an in country agent best deals/sales
at least 2 weeks ahead fare like the US varies widely.
The most inexpensive fares are likely to be online, but need a Brazilian ID number and credit card for purchase. Otherwise, try GOL online or TAM by phone. You can book a lfight when you arrive too.
An relatively inexpensive one way fare these days is probably about R$150.
