Galápagos Islands: Yacht Angelito
In mid April my husband and I headed south to Ecuador. We stayed just 1 night on the mainland before heading to the Galápagos Islands, the night of April 16th and the 7.8 earth quake. Welcome to South America!
We were relieved to be able to make our connections the next day and it wasn't till late in the week that news reached us of the devastation suffered in the coastal areas of Ecuador. We chose an 8 day, small boat 'cruise' on the Angelito; Cometa Agency, the boat, Itinerary A, and naturalist guide Maja were the absolute PERFECT choices for us, too. Our cabin was comfortable, the crew took fantastic care of us, Maja was truly amazing, and we were lucky every single day with both weather and wildlife sightings (albatross dancing! short eared owls eating! show off sea lions swirling around us as we snorkeled!). We really enjoyed getting to know our 13 fellow travelers, too. More specifics on the boat and the itinerary here:

Following the boat trip we spent an extra 3 nights in Puerto Ayora in an AirBnB place for diving, local dining, and a visit to Las Grietas, followed by another night on the mainland before heading south to Perú for more adventures.
My photo sets are linked below - let me know if you have any questions. Happy trails!

It might be months before I check back on this forum but you can almost always find me in the Central American branch or on the Trip Advisor forum if you post questions and I don't respond here. Happy trails!

My daughter and I leave in two weeks for Ecuador and the Galapagos, and will be on the Angelito Itinerary A at the end of June. Glad to know that they are still wowing their guests!
My husband and I cruised last year on the Galaxy II and loved the experience.
