Galapagos tours

I am writing to find the "best" tour for my 82-year-old stepfather to the Galapagos. He is intellectually curious and would love a tour with a very well informed guide. He is very able and fit although his knees are bad and so long hikes could be a problem. He is looking at Road Scholars (he has used them for other trips) or National Geographic. He would love to book in October/November this year. He is not up to hiking to Machu Picchu so a tour that doesn't include that. Thanks for any advice.

check out some of these https://www.condortravel.com/en/trav...pagos-islands/

He can choose the level of accommodations - and their single supplements aren't bad.

Re Machu Pichu -- He can visit if he wants without hiking there. A tour group would take him on a train to Aguas Caliente, then a bus up the mountain to the site. I managed at least the lower half of Machu Pichu w/ a partially torn ACL (an ace bandage/cane/pain meds do wonders ) I couldn't really make it to the upper terraces/Guard House a few of the more rugged parts of the site but still managed to fit in a lot (had morning and afternoon entries)

I will have to go back again when I can actually walk. Maybe next year.

(I was traveling independently earlier this month but got injured mid trip so hooked up w/ a tour group for Sacred Valley/Machu Pichu/Cusco so I wouldn't have to deal w/ my bag etc. There were 12 people in the group and 3 of them had spent about 4 days/nights on a Galapagos extension)
