Galapagos and Machu Pichu Itinerary Suggestions

Hello!

I am planning a trip to the Galapagos for my brother in June and the wealth of information out there is staggering! I do have slight motion sickness issues sometimes but I think I'd like to try the cruise option anyway. I'll just load up on drugs =) The group consists of late 20s folks so we'd like to do something active, but still come back to great food on the cruise. Other than that, we're not too picky about the living arrangements because it sounds like we won't be spending much time in the cabin. Our biggest pull to the Galapagos is the wildlife and since this is one of those once in a lifetime trips, we want to see and do everything there is to do! From my initial research it sounds like I should look into the 15 day cruises on a smaller boat to see the larger islands and add in Machu Pichu. Any suggestions on cruise lines we should go with or suggestions of places to add while we're there? We planned on spending about a month on this trip. I hope I gave you guys enough info and thank you in advance for any advice!

If you look through Ecuador trip reports you will find a recent one for Angelito. Maja is an excellent guide. You may want to add a few days in Puerto Ayora before or after. I booked direct with them and they were easy to work with.

In June it is quite windy and the seas tend to be rougher. Thus it would be safer to take a land based tour if you get sea sick easily.
Here is our land based itenerary of 2 weeks and 3 islands Galapagos DIY trip.

Mayby you can add a 4 or 5 day cruise if you like.

We made a seperate trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu. This is our DIY trip itinerary of Peru.

I hope it help you to plan your trip. Have a very nice trip!

June is not as windy as August/September. June is transitional betweent the two seasons and can start to get is type of June gloom..overcast and possibly drizzle The water also starts to cool down vs. December. Most of the boats try to do througherdpstretches at night. I did my trip in June but during an El Nino year so the water was warmer than usual. We had one Daytime stretch (southbound from Genovesa) that was pretty rocky and most people had to take a lie down and use meds if they were susceptible.

James D Cook links are to an ebookers website...i.e. his website is a cover for a commercial enterprise.

We had a wonderful 11 day "nature workshop" on the Tip Top IV through Galapagos Travel. They also offer a 15 night trip.
Loved that their focus was nature and that they put 2 (rather than the required 1) guides on the 16 passenger ship.

In regards to yacht options for the Galapagos Islands I can mention 2 boats that are reputable: Galapagos Sea Star Journey and Galapagos Seaman Journey.
