Fire in Valparaiso
My daughter and I are/were planning a trip to Chile and staying in Valparaiso. We were planning to leave the first week of June. I'm not sure if this would be a wise time to visit under the circumstances. The student we are visiting said the fire has not affected the area in which she lives, but it is still concerning to us. Any ideas?

According to the news, this fire is such a disaster, the whole city is in disarray. That's not concerning? Well, maybe everything will be back to normal by June? Is that what you're insinuating? That's exactly what I'd like to believe so as not to miss this trip.

I am not insinuating anything. I was asking what your concerns are. The fire did not affect the whole city. It was an area that tourists simply do not visit. It id not affect the part of Valparaíso which is a UN World Heritage Site. I can't see any reason why, in a month and a half, you couldn't visit Valparaíso. The only disruptions right now might be a drop in water pressure and a traffic jam of trucks taking aide to those who were victims of the disaster. Since you know someone who is living there, you could ask them in a few weeks what things are like.
