I have read or heard somewhere that there is a maximum number of days (5?) or something like a fixed number of tourists each day allowed to the Island for a short period. Is that true ? It looks from airlines and hotels that I could book without any limit !

There is a daily "taxa ambiental" of about R$40, payable on arrival, which adds up quickly, and another preservation tax for using the trails.
