can anyone out there confirm whether or not a cash departure tax is required to exit ecuador? i have heard that it is not included in the airfare-- but i don't see it on the ticket. thanks so much, kawh

I believe the tax is included in your airfare. You airline could tell you for sure.
We departed from Quito last month. All departure fees are now included in your airfare.
thanks much fodorites-- yes-- united included the exit fee in the fare... though nobody at united seems to know this or see a need to put it anywhere on the ticket! ecuador was wonderful, btw!
