Husband and I are considering a 2-day/1-night tour of Colca Canyon. Should we book this ahead of our arrival in Peru? Anyone have recommendations for a tour agency/tour guide? (And care to share their costs?)
Thanks!

I used Mythical trails peru for our 12 days tour in Peru, we visited Paracas, Nazca lines, Machu Picchu, Laketiticaca and the Colca cañon.
Its been a few years and I don't recall the name of our tour, but we had the B&B we stayed in book it for us. There seemed to be a lot of tour operators around town.
It is best to wait book through your hotel or on the plaza
boots on the ground I paid $35 for the whole tour including
a nice mountain view hotel room bus in/out folkloric show
food was extra not much $3-5
many scammers on line careful a good one Arequpipa based
www.mysteryperu.com usually lots more...
Also super cheap just take bus to Chivay and DIY
For upscale casa-andina.com or colcalodge.com arrange
a driver/guide in out from $50 per half day.
There is a 1 day that requires a 2AM departure I would
give that one a miss...
Do not miss the Cruz del Condor when they are flying
AMAZING!
