Cheap flights from Southern/Cetral Europe to Brazil

Hi there!
I am searching for a cheap ticket from Europe to Brazil in late august or early September. I am flexible as far as dates go. As I am moving to Brazil for an extended period of time, I will only be searching for a one way ticket. In your experience, what is the cheapest way of getting around buying a one-way ticket, since promotional and discount prices for plane travel, are usually limited to purchase of return tickets? Are there ways of buying return tickets and thus taking advantage of the discount price, adding cancelation & change insurance on the ticket and selling the return ticket to a fellow traveler (while changing the passanger name on the ticket later on?), or are these possibilities only limited to low-cost airliners here in Europe? Has anyone got experience with this? Can anyone advise me on the currently cheapest option to travel from Slovenia to Rio or Sao Paolo? I prefer flying from Slovenia or it's neighboring countries (Italy, Austria, Croatia, Hungary) and I am not afraid of connecting flights.
I thank you for all the help.

Ziga

Welcome to Fodors. You are likely to get more replies if you post this on the Air Travel forum.

I believe some of what you suggest is illegal.

Trans-Atlantic tickets will be cheaper if bought from a gateway city such as Frankfurt or Amsterdam. Or for Rio, possibly Lisbon.

Probably cheapest through Madrid (or Rome, Frankfurt, London, Paris), maybe through Dubai. RT is going to be cheaper than one way.

Slovenian passport holders get a prazo/stay as a tourist of 90 days per year (non-renewable afaik), so a RT would cover that.
If "moving to Brazil for an extended period" indicates another status, the problem may be convincing the airline to let you board with a one-way ticket (since they must return you to your start point if entry is refused). Showing an ' immigration status' (family reunion, work, etc) visa might help.

In these days of terrorists, you think you can sell a ticket and change the name on it? Really?

I am currently looking for something similar for a return to South America next year.
When we went for an extended period in 2013 we flew on a BA/LAN Codeshare fro London, transiting in Madrid and got a very reasonable return fare of £500. A one way ticket was more expensive than the return!

Not sure about Slovenia but there are loads of budget airlines in Europe so getting to one of the major hubs, London, Amsterdam or Madrid and flying from there may be your best option.

Agree with sambachulas comments re selling on your ticket - not possible and re entry into the country.

Thank you for the hospitality and for your replies.

After a very quick search on Skyscanner that I just did, to get my bearings straight, I found a return ticket between Ljubljana and Sao Paolo for 640€, going trough Venice and Lisbon. I suppose via Lisbon will be the cheapest option for where I'm from, although I will check out transfers through all major European air hubs as well.

I know my ambitious ramblings about ticket manipulation were a bit of a long shot, although from the stories I've herd from my Brazilian friends and coworkers it seemed reasonable to at least consider such ventures.

I think I can knock down a couple hundred euros by choosing to fly from Venice or Zagreb, that have direct connections with TAP. Zagreb is only an hour and a half and Venice just over two hours of driving away from where I live.

Will keep you posted.

Just had and email from LAN announcing a fare sale £399 (€540) from LHR to São Paulo. May be worth checking out their website as the sale also seemed to cover flights from other European hubs.
