Cajamarca to Chachapoyas by bus
Good day,
I've been trying to find up to date information on the road condition and the bus companies that do this trip. I'm unsure if there is one that still does Cajamarca-Chachapoyas in one shot or if I will have to juggle going from Cajamarca to Celendin, then onwards to Leymebamba/Chachapoyas.
Movil used too run it in one go afaik, but it seems they do not anymore.
I would't mind dropping off in Leymebamba for a night, but I'd rather not stay in Celendin.
If anyone has info I'd very much appreciate it!

The road deteriorates in the wet season, then road repairs and clearing of landslide debris happens. Usually by May the roads in the Andes are passable.
You will just have to check in when you arrive on current conditions.
I had considered doing this in reverse (from Chachapoyas to Cajamarca) but the rains started and I decided to just go back to Chiclayo instead. I didn't get as far as checking into who did it, but I assumed it was necessary to go by combi or shared car rather than a big bus.
It does look like quite an amazing journey.
