Unusual Trip to Peru w/Medical Crisis, & How David Choque Saved Our Trip

There is a bit of a tension between location and access to beaches. For location, restaurants and shops, then the best place is in town. Yet, the best beaches (or any real beach) is not there.
All of Buzios is relatively small. Taxis are easy as are buggies to rent. Thus, you may want to focus on what you would prefer. Ease of going out at night or smack on a beach. On prior trips we opted to be near to town, but not in it, and not out on the far beaches. Those can be reached in 5-10 mins in a taxi in any event. The beach at Jao Fernandho has some nice pousadas and that also is walking distance to town, very close. Obviously, Casas Brancas gets a lot of votes for in town. There are also a few new very nice pousadas around Buzios, expensive, that you may want to look into. Make sure you get over to Praia Geriba, its terrific. BUzios is a great location to add to Rio; easy to get to, safe, good shopping and restaurants. Have fun.
