Brazil. TAM or GOL?

Will fly from Rio or Sao Paulo to Iguaszu and would like to know which of these two airlines are better. I have read horror stories on both and I really don't know which one I should use. I have One World miles with AA and could redeem for a free flight on GOL, but wouldn't mind paying for the flight if TAM is the better choice. Any advice about these two airlines will be appreciated. Thanks.

Take the cheaper one (free miles). They're much the same, IMO.

Have you looked at the Airpasses (TAM and GOL offer them) - they were a great deal for our travels in Brazil in January....

Note: Airpasses are only a good value in Brazil if you are flying a long distance at high season. Otherwise, compare individual fares on GOL, Webjet, Azul Brazil and Avianca Brazil; many times, especially at non-peak season, this totals less than a pass for the same number of flights.

Thank you for the replies.

I need three flights in Brazil (Rio - Salavador - Sao Paulo - Iguacu) and don't think the air pass would work well with my itinearay.

I've been to Brasil eight times since 2002, and each time I've flown within the country as well as from Miami to GIG [Rio]. I've only used TAM and have been quite pleased with the service.

I also purchased a BrasilPass one time and traveled to and from Rio to Sao Paulo, Foz, Salvador, Curitiba, etc., all on TAM.

You can use both, regulars flights in Brazil can be done perfectly with this companies.

By directly from Tam and Gol website, it´s easy and work perfect. YOu can use sites like decolar.com ou submarinoviagens.com.br to discovery if there area directly flights and other information.
