Brazil - Rio to Sao Paulo
We will be in Brazil in June for one or two World Cup games. Has anyone driven from Rio to Sao Paulo? What was your experience? Guide books don't recommend it but I hate to miss all of the scenery in between. Suggestions are appreciated. We are also planning on visiting the pantanal since we have tickets to one game in Cuiaba. I know its a big country and advice is appreciated.

Hey Dave..
Get a bus, around 40 u$ per person, 500 km (6 hours), cheaper than rent a car, by the way, the route is nice, don´t worry, travel this route every month...
Pantanal is a very nice place too.

I do not find that route scenic, but I'm pretty sure bus will be the best option so far in World Cup, because of the very high air fares. I suggest booking in advance:
