Rozita,
I just got back Sunday from Rio had a great time don't worry about anything.
Food was great and so were the people.
Have a good trip
Rozita,
Brazil is neither more nor less dangerous than it used to be before sep11. I don´t think we could suffer a terrorrist attack. After you get here you´ll undertand why. I´m sure you´ll enjoy Brazil.
Rozita,
As far as terrorism is concerned, Brazil is maybe one of the safest countries to travel. We do have some street crime in our big cities, no more, though, than you find in Miami, or Paris, or Barcelona. However, as far as you know your way around, you'll be completely safe.
In Brazil, muslims and jews are friends and get together. We are friendly people, despite our ethnic origin, and religious beliefs. Besides, the exchange rate is quite convenient for Americans now. Brazil is maybe one of the few countries where the Dollar rate keeps raising, despite the war and the American announced recession.
Come, and you'll be pleased, I assure you.
Regards,
S
Friends of mine arrive in Rio on Saturday, Nov. 10th. They want to know if they can bring their cell phone? Also, is there gambling in Rio?
Many thanks.
No gambling in Rio, sorry to say, unless for bingo. Plenty of them, in fact..
The cell most probably won't work, but you should tell your friends to try to get this info from the cell company there, where they live. There are some cells that work all over the world, others, don't!
Regards,
S
Hi Rozita
we do not like problems !
as a brasilian woman, I can say that the brasilians are one of the people that care NOTHING about War, politics and such things (we have only life ordinary problems) We are very calm and do not like to get involved in these terrorism stuff - most people here are not even concerned about our own political problems...
