Hi,
I plan on leaving for Colombia and then Bolivia very soon but am finding it difficult to get answers to certain questions:
1. What are the most affordable and DIRECT flights from Bogota to Salar de Uyuni or at least Sucre in Bolivia? In USD, approximately what would this cost next month?
2. In total, how long are the bus rides from Salar de Uyuni to Sucre?
3. What are the most affordable, convenient and DIRECT flights or bus rides from Sucre to Salta in Argentina (means of transportation and duration)? In USD, approximately what would this cost next month?
4. What kind of adapter do I need for Bolivia (not voltage but style)? I am from the US. Is it the same style or different? If different, then if possible, I’d like to see a photo or image of some sort.
Thanks for your time. Charlie

Boliviabella.com has some updated info on Airlines that fly to or within Bolivia.
Noone is going to fly internationally to Uyuni.
Check Amaszonas (they flew small planes last year) to Uyuni and you may be able to book from overseas. TAM militar may fly there or to Sucre but not from Colombia.
From Uyuni to Potosí about 6 hrs and then 3 hrs to Sucre. Probably with change of bus.
You may find different plug styles (either round or flat). Everywhere I stayed had at least one outlet that accepted US plugs.
"Check Amaszonas (they flew small planes last year) to Uyuni and you may be able to book from overseas. TAM militar may fly there or to Sucre but not from Colombia. "
What should I check exactly, from where to where?
I have visited many Latin American great colonial gems: Cuzco, Quito, Buenos Aires (although different obviously), Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro (different again), Salvador in Brazil (again different), Cartagena, Guanajuato, etc. Do you personally think Sucre ranks among these places I have been to in regard to being a 'must-see' colonial destination? I only ask because I looked up Avianca Airlines and saw that the price is $754USD 1-way on a random Wednesday afternoon 1 month from now from Bogota to Santa Cruz (not even to Sucre)! Wow. Sucre is truly a difficult place to reach. Hence I am reconsidering going there unless I get some strong feedback (ultimately opinions) saying that Sucre truly ranks among South America's greatest sightseeing destinations rather than more of a place to visit ‘only if you are already in the area’. What do you think?
No Sucre is not a must see, I think it looks like many other Spanish colonial cities. I think it is popular with students and backpackers because it has a fair number of hostels and bars.
It is nice, but not on a par with the Salar de Uyuni or even La Paz. I preferred Potosi to Sucre.
When I went last year, there were flights from Sucre to La Paz on an airline that is no longer in business. Possibly TAM flies there but you cannot book this from overseas.
Perhaps you should wait until you are in Bolivia to look for airfares if you can't manage from overseas. At any rate timetables in Bolivia need some leeway due to a variety of issues, from cancelled flights to road blockades and strikes.
I was able to book a few days ahead for flights and busses.
Since you seem to have the money to fly all over the world, why don't you contact a South American travel specialist?
I already gave you the link to Bolivia Bella which has links to all of the airlines that might serve Sucre and/or Uyuni.
