Still trying to arrange a one week tour out of Mexico City. Cuba seems complicated and have been to much of Central and Latin America with the exception of Bolivia. Have always wanted to go there but pictures I saw online of La Paz make it appear rather ramshackle. I know the scenery is spectacular but where is the best place to see the indigenous culture?

Bolivia is an amazing place to visit, but it's not exactly in the neighborhood if you're in Mexico. I'd wager that the roundtrip airfare between Mexico and Bolivia will cost more than the roundtrip airfare between the U.S. and Bolivia. Why not make Bolivia another trip?

If you're interested in indigenous culture, what about the states of Oaxaca and Chiapas in southern Mexico? Not nearly as far ...
I wish I could go to Bolivia right now,... I love LA PAZ, and you can also see Coroico and the coca plantations and Valle de la luna! I wish I could have time to see the desert also. There are nice tours from UYUNI ending in Tupiza close to the argentinian border...
And as a bonus you can also see the NW of Argentina!!!

If you are an American citizen be advised that you must get a visa for Bolivia in advance. If it's just a one week trip you must decide if it's worth your trouble and expense to get that visa. As mentioned above, Bolivia is no short distance from Mexico City.
If you are not a US citizen then be sure to check the requirements for your country.
