Bolivia - Women Travelling Alone

Hi,

I'm planning to travel (partly by overland tour) to Equador, Peru, and into La Paz. The tour ends in La Paz and I am considering to travel in Bolivia by myself.

I am looking for any advice on where to go or concerns about a single woman travelling alone. Thanks.

Carmen

Hi Carmen,
Go on a trip with casiopiatravel.com
You get to go with other women and have a great time. Don't know if they go to South America.

Hi Carmen,
I've just returned from Bolivia where I spent just over three months. I was teaching and lived with a group of teachers so didn't travel alone. Theft is big in Bolivia so be really careful with your bags etc but there are some great things to see. I lived in Cochabamba and as a tourist wouldn't say theres a heap to see but a nice city with a temporate climate. I would recommend a trip to Sucre and Potosi. Sucre has some great museums etc but a highlight for me was taking a trip into the silver mines in Potosi - they're very authentic, and a little dangerous but wow what an experience. I went with Koala tours who have an office in Potosi. Happy travelling...hold tight to those bags and remember that traditional Bolivian people are often offended if you take their photo.
Susan.
