A friend and I are visiting Argentina for 10 days in December and were wondering what the must-see places are. We have already planned to go to Buenos Aires, Iguazu, El Calafate and Peninsula Valdes and were thinking maybe Tierra del Fuego. Are all these places worth going to and is there something else that you all can recommend instead of these?

Trip Ideas
!0 days is not a lot of time for such a huge and varied country. We spent 3 months there and still missed loads. In terms of highlights the following stand out:
Salta and the NW region - unfortunatly you dont really have enough time to do it justice.
Peninsula Valdes - being so close to the whales, either on a boat trip or simply waling along the beach or pier was an almost spitual experience!
Iguazu - worth 2 days (one at a pinch) of anyones time
El Calafate - my biggest regret is not visiting due to acombination of factors - maybe next time!
IMHO I dont feel you have enough time to it in Tierra del Fuego but I guess it really depends upon what your personal interests / priorities are and how much of your vacation time you want to spend on planes. You really need a MINIMUM of 2 nights in each place but 3 would be better for PV an EC

have a look at possible places you can visit
For me Iguazu El Calafate
2 best places to visit
would be plenty for 10 days for me
distances are vast flying best...
Thanks! We have decided to take out Tierra del Fuego. So are 3 nights enough for BA? 3 nights in Peninsula Valdes, 2 nights in El Calafate, and 2 in Iguazu? Is there enough to do in each of these places for this amount of time?
ok, maybe next time for SAlta and JUjuy provinces, i the nw
Have a great, great time!!!!

You'll still be a bit rushed---don't forget that these are not short-hop flights. It's a big country. And 3 days in B.A. is like 3 days in New York City: only the highlights. Agree that the Salta and Cafayate area is fantastic. Return for that!
