Best Ice Cream in Buenos Aires!
Hi!
I'm on a hunt for the best ice cream buenos aires has to offer! Are there any places that are doing innovative things with flavors and that AREN'T chains?? I have heard sooo much about Un'Altra Volta but I'd rather not head out to chains - something authentic would be great.
Any tips?!?!
Thanks!

I live in BA and Volta is as much a local favorite as any touristy spot... it is as authentic as you are going to get anywhere here... try not to start out your visit with notions about "chains" etc.. you don't want anything to keep you from enjoying ice cream and many other things available here.
Everywhere you go in BA, you will see ice cream .. you can have it in any restaurant for dessert or go to Freddo's, Volta, etc. Recoleta, Palermo, San Telmo and Belgrano all have a tremendous amount of places to Taste Test your Helado.
Have fun ... and don't worry about calories, you walk them off

Volta was my favourite in Buenos Aires. I loved the dolce de leche flavour. They have so many different flavours plus different cones and you could have the whole thing dipped in chocolate. I think it's the best icecream I've ever had, anywhere!

Susan, we lived around the corner from Volta and Freddo when we first moved here.
You can appreciate our delight
My favorites are Banana Volta which is chocolate, dulce de leche, banana ice cream .. and then there is Cherry. The Volta on Callao has that sometimes .. amazing.

Volta is great! Dulce de leche is fabulous. Not a fan of Freddo's. My favorite place was Scannapieco. Yes, Scarlett, nothing better than gelato for a sore throat...truly miracle medicine as u say. Please, have a ducle de leche for me-4 your health.

About non-chain ice cream parlors:

I'm sorry, only in Spanish.
Have some great ice cream in our town.
