Beautiful Bolivia - Salar de Uyuni

From Potosi we headed to Sucre and then off to Uyuni to see the remarkable salt flats. Between the town of Uyuni and salt is a train graveyard where dozens of steam locos and other rolling stock sit in various states of disrepair.

Once a lake, the salt now sits at over 3,600m and occupies more than 12,000 square kilometres of near perfect flatness. There is a small area of local salt mining, but the majority of the area is pristine and the closest I have ever been to the surface of another world. It was just amazing!
