Bathroom facilities on Galapagos

Are there bathroom facilities/toilets available on the Galapagos Islands? My friend has decided not to go (this trip was her idea) and now I am without a trip for this winter. I've not given up on going alone, but the single supplement for the boats is a lot. Any suggestions?

Yes many bathrooms and some very nice hotels

www.casnaturahotel.com one of the nicest

with packages that will save...

www.aerogal.com.ec cheap sales to GPS

www.lan.com good sales sometimes

for single cruise

www.gotmyfare.com

pairs singles on the Legend super cheap

packages from $2K all in including hotel air from US food etc.

www.galapagosXpeditions.com

good local ecuadorian family site for other hotels/boats etc.

Careful many boat touts/owners/middlemen will try to scam

you for lots more markup $$$ just do not do it..

insuremytrip.com always wise..

Hi Judi. What a shame your friend backed out..their loss! You will still have a wonderful time! In the inhabited islands of Galapagos, there are several public restroom facilities, as well as the use of restrooms in restaurants. It is always a good idea to have some tissues in your purse/bag/pocket..just in case! WHile on land visits to the uninhabited islands, it is best to use the facilities on your boat before debarking.
Some of the boat companies in Galapagos offer to match you up with a roomate. With a little bit of digging around, you should be able to find a cruise that has another single, same-sex passenger that they could match you up with.
Good luck!

Don't let single supplement put you off. I went on Seaman II and shared. Check around; most boats will attempt to match you with a compatible same-gender stranger. My room-mate turned out to be a nice bloke with similar interests.

There were very limited toilet facilities on the islands away from the inhabited islands, I used the facilities on the boat.

Cheers, Alan

Most outings from the boat last 2.5 - 3 hours and then you head back to the boat and your cabin. We were there with an Elderhostel/Road Scholar group--16 advanced-middle-age to retirement-age people--so you can imagine the anxieties such an ancient group had about bathroom availability! Even among us old fogies, though, no one had any problems with the lack of facilities on the islands. But if someone can't go ~3.5 hours without a facility, that could be a problem.
