I understand that there are day trips from Lima to visit Ballestra Islands (poor man's galapagos) and Paracas National Reserve. Has anyone taken this tour? Worthwhile?

I did not do a day trip from Lima (stayed overnight in Paracas the night before the tour), but I have done a tour of the Islas Ballestas. I think that tour is well worth it. You go in a speedboat to see first the candelabra. Then you spend a while floating around the islands. The boat captains get you within 10 feet of sea lions and penguins. And there are tons of birds.
