BA Recommendations for a tour and a taxi

We just returned from BA and wanted to recommend the free walking tour we did, BA Free Walking Tours http://www.bafreetour.com/english-home. We did the Aristocratic Tour at 5 pm with Cecilia and it was great. The tour was two hours, gave very interesting information and was conducted in an entertaining and enjoyable manner. It was fun to learn about the culture and style of the city from a Porteno. Cecilia was very knowledgeable and provided lots of funny tidbits as we did the tour.

I also would like to recommend the taxi driver that took us to EZE for our return. He is Roberto Hernandez. We had hailed him down at some point during our 10 days in BA and liked him. So we asked if he would take us to the airport on our last day about 8 days later. He spoke some English, wrote our address, date and time of pick up in a little notebook. Of course we were a little nervous so we asked AVRooster if he would call a day or two before and confirm for us which he was kind enough to do. Then on our departure day, we decided to leave a bit earlier and called Roberto to see if he could come earlier, no problem. Then our apt service, called and asked us if we minded if they came by earlier which was fine if they could contact Roberto, our taxi driver, and make the new pick up arrangements. Roberto arrived at our apt about 10 minutes or so early, was a great driver and pleasant to talk with on the long drive to EZE. He gave us his card and said his daughter speaks good English and to email or call him if anyone needed a pick up or ride. His email is [email protected] phone is 4584-7535 and cell is 15-4172-1841.

What was Roberto's fee from your apartment to the airport? I can't remember what I paid in May of 2010.

I ask this because I am planning to return to Buenos Aires in October of this year for a few days.

Our apt was in Palmero and he charged 160pesos to EZE. U can certainly email him and get the specifics of his rates. He may charge less if he picks u up from EZE and does the return too .

AV, sigh, dont i wish we were leaving today for a return to your lovely city...

DH and I, along with friends, another couple from the USA, did both of the Free Walking Tours and agree with Yestravel; they were both excellent, high quality tours !

And yes, the weather is lousy in WDC...
