Hi,
We have a trip planned to ski in Bariloche in August. From what I have seen, the ash is a huge problem - power shutdowns, etc. Is the ski area up and running at this point or do we need to make alternate plans? Thanks so much!

we have rented a house in Bariloche in December so have been watching it. I've read the skiing is done for this year. Haven't been able to find any info newer than late June though. I'd be interested in hearing what is happening. Very worried about the fishing, the Lake Crossing to Chile. Just hoping Dec is far enough out...
Bariloche was amazing. We visited mid-july 2011. We didn't need the rental car because the busses ran very regular and are easy to use! Skiing was fantastic due to the new snow, fallen a day before!! The boat trip was great! Amazing scenery.
True when the snow melts you see the ash..... You need ofcourse snow to ski, so when there is enough snow to ski you will have an amzing time!!!
There were no power peoblems at all!!!!
Say Hueque organized our trip and it was great!
Hi everyone,
Luckily the ash problem is slowly going away. The tours are running normal and as lilianes said, if there is snow you'll have a blast doing ski.
Enjoy!
Travel safe, regads.
