Hi,
My family is planning on going to Argentina at the end of September for 12 days. We would fly into BA and spend a few days and was wondering where else we should go that would be fun for the kids as well. We're open for practically anything just as long as there are fun things to keep the kids engaged. I was thinking possibly 2 days in Iguazu and maybe somewhere else as i think 9 or 10 days in BA would be too much. I look forward to everyone's suggestions.

2 days in Iguazu is a must!
Day trips close to BA include:
Tigre Delta - an easy scenic train ride out along the coast to an area where there are lots of boat trips out into the delta and where many Portenos go picnicking at the weekend.
Colonia del Sacremento - take the ferry across the river to this quaint place in Uruguay. Rent a golf buggy and visit some of the beaches just outside town.
I am sure the kids would love a trip to see the whales, penguins and seals up close in Peninsula Valdes. Its a long way in the opposite direction from Iguazu but I would say worth it if they like wildlife.

Crelleston, your suggestions are excellent for most visitors with kids; BUT, this family is traveling with TODDLERS - so these suggestions might be a bit challenging for them.
There have been a few posts and Trip Reports about being in Argentina/BsAs with babies and toddlers - I would suggest looking them up (and I will try to find them, too).
