Argentina Honeymoon

Hello everyone. We are planning our upcoming honeymoon to Argentina and I was hoping for some advice. We will be arriving in Buenos Aires on December 28 and were planning to stay in the city until Jan 1 or 2. From there, we were planning on making it to Mendoza to tour wineries and than flying south to Tierra del Fuego. Is this too ambitious or would you recommend anything different?

Goals are to see Buenos Aires and be there over New Years Eve. Also would like to do wineries and see the glaciers.

Arriving in BA on 12/28 and return flight set for 01/08.

Thanks!

At that time of the year, it could be quite warm in BA, which you may or may not like.

If I were you, I would celebrate the New Year somewhere in our South, probably in Bariloche and then go on to Calafate and Tierra del Fuego, then North to Mendoza and finally back East to BA.

By that time, many of the BA locals will be gone for their summer holidays and you'll have less traffic, uncrowded restaurants and that kind of thing.

With only 11 nights, you may have to pick and choose among the places I mentioned.

I imagine you most likely "popped the question" when you went to San Francisco last year and got an affirmative reply? Great!

My compliments for the bride and have a wonderful honeymoon in our country.

Thank you for the well wishes and all worked out perfectly with the San Fran engagement!!!

I think seeing all three is going to be difficult given the distance between them but we'll iron out the details more as we get closer to fully booking everything. For now we just have our BA flight scheduled.

Of course, AV gives great advice. I think u need to decide on a couple places. If u try to see all that u mentioned u will be spending way too much time in airplanes and airports. Not to add to your decision making but have u read about Iguazu Falls? It is absolutely spectacular and I would suggest u consider it. Its a couple hours flight from BA and easily doable in 2 days 1 night or if you really love Falls, u could even spend 2 nights.
Whatever u decide, hope you'll have a wonderful honeymoon in Arg -- its a special country.
