I am considering a road transfer between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado on the newly constructed Transoceania Highway, possibly with an overnight stop along the way for some light birding and to enjoy the scenery. Otherwise we'll do the trip in a day
We did the Manu Road as far as Atalya in 2010 and I'm wondering how this new paved road compares with that experience.
Has anyone done this trip with a private guide, and if so are there any decent places to stay and walk some trails?
Thanks,
Pol
