Accommodation available?

First of all I am impressed by the amount of information on this board. Ana (and others) you do a great job! I’ll visit VZ in January and am wondering about the availability of accommodation. Do you find many (affordable) hotels outside the cities and, if so, are they safe enough? How much does a night typically cost?
