9 days in February - Where should I go in Argentina?

My husband and I are planning a trip to South America in February. We can't decide between BA/Iguazu, BA/Rio/Manaus, or BA/Patagonia. We are planning to fly to each destination to save time. Any tips from those that have been there?

Why not a triangle, BS.AS. - IGUAZU - SALTA - Buenos Aires.
The NW is a wonderful area you will really love, the architecture, cukture, music, food and everythign in the area is fantastic. You will want to stay here. Believe me- We have also our wine country where torrontes is the queen of the wines. A fruity and dry wine!!! You can also be part of one of the most amazing landscapes in the salt flats! Purmmaarca and the colourful mountains....
Do not miss the NW, do not leave withour trying the famous empanadas!!!!
Flintstones.

With only 9 days I would limit myself to no more than 2 locations, spending 3/4 days in BA and 5/6 elswhere. The question is where? Iguazu only takes one or two days so, personally I would give that a miss in favour of either the Salta region as flinstones suggest or Patagonia. If you could provide more info on your likes/dislikes then you will get more focussed replies.

A link to ur blog which provide further info on our time there. Entries 82 onwards cover Argentina

I agree with Crellston... better quality than quantity...
And NW is fantastic. The advantage is that now there are direct flights between Iguazu and SALTA so you do not need to fly to BA to go to SALTA.

It completely depends what you're looking for... its true that Iguazu only needs 1 or 3 days but it is spectacular, its just there isnt that much to do there! But you could spend a night there and then do as flintstones suggests and spend 3 nights in Salta and have the remaining time in BA, I think more than 3 locations in 9 days will be too tiring and you wont have chance to appreciate it. The flights would probably come to around $450 USD, you ought to book them as soon as you decide because since high season will be starting soon the prices are contsatly going up - particularly to Iguazu!

have a great trip!
