I will be in Buenos Aires for a 1 day layover, and I would like to know what I should focus on if I only have limited time. We get in around 10am on a Saturday and our flight leaves around 4am on Sunday.
That then leads to where we should stay. We'd like to stay somewhere and get a few hours of sleep before we leave for the airport around 1am. Is there a recommended area that is close to lots of stuff? Centro, San Telmo, etc? We'll also need transport from the hotel to the airport.
I don't know much about BA, but I've heard that La Boca is a great place to see during the day and that the Avenida 9 de Julio is neat to see.

I have a very similar situation. I land at EZE at 9:00 and fly out to Ushuaia at 4:30 the next morning.
I spent several days in BA a few years ago, so have already done most of the "must do" sites. If I were you I would wander around the central area (casa rosada, etc.), San Telmo, and Recoleta. I can't help you on hotels since I never had to fly in or out of EZE last time I was there.
I'm also trying to think of some way to fill my day so hopefully someone else will have some good ideas.
The best way to get the most out of your one day in Buenos Aires would be to do a private city tour of Buenos Aires. This tour features the city highlights El Microcentro, el Obelisco, Catedral Metropolitana, Casa Rosada and Cementerio de la Recoleta. You could do that during the day, and then I would recommend that at night to go check out one of Argentina's famous tango shows.
Happy travels,
